A PC tablet offers better mobility than a laptop and better functionality/usability than a smart phone. Besides Apple and Samsung, Sony is also in tablet PC market now. Sony revealed the specifications of ‘Sony Tablet S‘ and ‘Sony Tablet P‘ few days back. Both are android tablets. Sony Tablet S has a standard slate design having 9.4-inch display, a NVIDIA Tegra 2 CPU and Wi-Fi/3G connectivity. It weight is 598 grams and comes with 32 GB of storage.

Chinese telecom company Huawei unveiled today its new Android 3.2 powered tablet, called the MediaPad. The news was given during an event in Singapore, as well as a release date, set around September.

According to officials from Huawei, Honeycomb 3.2 is essentially the same as 3.1, only adapted to a smaller screen size, 7 inch as opposed to 10. As well as including a Video Demo to describe its interface, the Chinese manufacturing company also released the tablet’s technical specifications. Beneath its sleek 10.5 mm wide shell, the MediaPad holds a 7 inch capacitive screen with 217 pixels per inch, with IPS for a wider angle display.

Microsoft is going to unveil Windows 8 Based Tablet PC with Nvidia Tegra chip. Windows 8 tablet’s start screen contains personalized selection of tiles. Every app on your system is represented by a tile. Tiles replaced the desktop icons. Tiles are better than icons for couple of reasons. Tile has little more space for app to show its personality and few important informations/updates related to it. For example the weather app can show you temperature without having to open it right at its tile. Windows 8 tablets will have apps and an app store. Developers will be able to create new apps for Windows 8. Its fast and fluid experience built for touch but you can also use keyboard and mouse. You can adjust the apps at screen with snap feature.

Sony will make its long-awaited entry into the tablet PC market later this year with two models based on the latest version of Google’s Android operating system. Two Android tablets that are quite different from a lot of the competition, the Sony Tablet S1 and S2 devices promise to be very desirable when they launch later this year. S1 and S2 are code names.
