Another update for iOS 4.3 was released to fix a critical security issue (certificate validation fix). A week earlier, iOS 4.3.4 was released wich fixed Mobile Safari vulnerability. If you have a untethered jailbroken device, you are advised to stay away from this update. Non-jailbreak iPhone, iPad, iPod touch users are strongly encouraged to download this update. You can do it by plugging your device into your computer, locating it in the iTunes sidebar and clicking on the “Check for Updates” option. iOS 4.3.4 addresses the PDF exploit in mobile Safari used by JailbreakMe and few more security fixes. JailbreakMe 3.0 doesn’t work for iOS 4.3.4. Blocking this untethered jailbreak seems to be the Apple’s only goal with this release. Apple hadn’t planned for this release but with such dangerous threat (that could lead users to have malware loaded onto their devices) in the wild, they had to do it. Apple have released iOS 5 beta 2 to download for all registered developers. To download iOS 5 beta 2, you need to be a registered member in the developer program (cost: $99/year) but if you are not a developer, you can still download this release from here. Make sure UDID of your device is activated before you install iOS 5 beta 2 on it. The workaround used to activate iOS 5 beta 1 without UDID activation does not work on iOS 5 beta 2. So before you download iOS 5 beta 2, first find out the UDID of your iOS device, get it registered and then proceed to download iOS 5 beta 2 direct from these links.
