Noteworthy Things in Mark Zuckerberg’s Wedding

The two met more than nine years ago while both were studying at Harvard. Mark Zuckerberg married his girlfriend of nine years on Saturday, May 19, one day after the Facebook’s stock went public.

Some people describe Mark’s wedding as a honeymoon to Facebook’s IPO.

Only 100 guests were invited and it was kind of a surprise wedding for everybody.

Guests were expecting Chan’s graduation celebration party, but they were surprised by the wedding ceremony. A humble wedding of a down-to-earth-geek, who does not need to show off his wealth. This wedding is kind of an inspiration for every geek/computer nerd (or anybody). Earn a fortune, get married, get settled – But do not show off.

In a 2005 When Zuckerberg was leaving the university, it is said that he asked Chan if she wanted a job at the Facebook. While offering him a Twizzler she replied:

“I’d love a job at Facebook.”

But Chan, who graduated from Harvard as a biology major in 2007, later decided to became a doctor, never worked for Facebook.

Chan inspired Mark Zuckerberg to take few important steps in his life, like – learning Chinese, taking organ donation initiative on Facebook.

Zuckerberg told ABC News that dinner table conversations with Chan helped him formulate an organ-donation initiative on Facebook.

Zuckerberg likes to challenge himself every year to do something. Once he decided to eat meat from animals that he himself hunted down. He challenged himself to learn chinese. Zuckerberg told ABC that Chan inspired him to try to learn Mandarin Chinese in one year. According to Mark, The venture was not very successful, but he was successful enough to talk with Chan’s elderly grandmother.
