Join Rapidshare Parts Files into Single File
Rapidshare is free file hosting monster. You can download movies, softwares, freewares and lots of stuff for your PC from there. Because there is a limit for uploading size therefore a lot of users split their files into multiple parts and upload these at Rapidshare. Now we can download part1, part2, part3 and so on and then you have to extract the file using winrar to make a single usable file. Normally when you extract part1, winrar detects other parts in the same directory and extract these for you to make a single file. Some files do not come in part1, part2 shape. These come file.rar.001, file.rar.002 state and there are two ways to extract these files. Either you rename these to part1.rar, part2.rar … sequence or you unsplit these using some software.
You can directly unsplit/ extract these 001, 002 shape parts into single file using file splitter. One freeware available is HJSplit that is Freeware multi-platform file splitter available for Linux, Mac and windows. HJSplit is a popular set of freeware file-splitting program. HJSplit supports many platforms (Windows 3.x/95/98/ME/2000/NT/XP, DOS, Amiga, Java, etc.). All versions are compatible with each other and allow you to exchange files between these different platforms. e.g. A file split on the Amiga can be joined on Windows 2000 and vice versa.
Think of a file of 20 Mb, and try to send this to a friend. Using email this does not succeed, it is simply too large, and how about splitting it into parts? HJSplit will enable you to split the large file into smaller chunks, which can be much more easily sent, stored and joined again. What about a backup of very large Gigabyte sized files? HJSplit (Windows and Java version) also can handle these! e.g. HJSplit allows you to split a 10 Gb file into 640 Mb parts, which can then be stored onto CD-Rom’s by your CD-writer software. HJSplit can join these split parts back together again, so that the original file is restored. HJSplit is very reliable, simple, small and easy to use. It does not need any installation or complicated DLLs, it just consists of one ‘.exe’ file. This means that you can also run it directly from a USB drive or CD-Rom. Its portable.
