Early Tethered Jailbreak iOS6 Using Redsn0w – Safari, Cydia and Games Crashed
On arrival of iOS6 we have previously described how to install iOS6 on iDevices and how to jailbreak iOS6 by using Redsn0w and install Cydia. That jailbreak is tethered jailbreak that make your device unstable. If you can not wait and want to check latest features in iOS6 straight away then its up to you, otherwise we won’t recommend tethered jailbreak iOS 6. We recommend you to wait for final untethered jailbreak release for iOS 6.
Tethered jailbreak is not final jailbreak. If you tethered jailbreak iOS6, you will be dependent on PC and tethered jailbreaking software to reboot it. In case of battery dies and iDevice goes off or in case of reboot, the device won’t be stable, unless you connect it to PC and boot it by selecting ‘just boot tethered right now’ option from jailbreaking software.
So its worth the wait. If you rely on unlock, do not update to iOS 6 yet. Compatible devices for iOS 6 tethered jailbreak using Redsn0w are iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod touch 4th-generation only. iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPad 2, iPad 3 and iPod touch 5th-generation are not supported by this jailbreak.
In my case iOS 6 jailbreak was successful and Cydia was also installed successfully. But then device was restarted and it encountered following problems.
- Safari crashed and stopped at startup. I could not open any website.
- Unofficial games crashed.
- Cydia crashed.
- Installous crashed.
- Whenever I tried to start any game, it started but then ‘Apple game center’ app popped up and freezes itself and the game running in background.
Then I had to take device data backup again and fresh restore iOS 6 from iTunes again. I am not going to tethered jailbreak. Wait is alright. Final untethered jailbreak will be a one time jailbreak and that’s it.
The above errors can be avoided, if you tethered boot your iOS6 with the help of PC and jailbreak software, EVERY TIME battery dies or if it restarts.
