How to Check Google PageRank And AlexaRank in Chrome

Check Google PageRank and Alexa Rank of any website right from the Google chrome. There is a javascript code to add as a page in the ‘bookmarks bar’ to enable PageRank in Chrome and an ad-on for Chrome which can be used via dev-channel in Chrome.

Add Google PageRank and Alexa Rank in Chrome

Make sure your Google Chrome browser always shows ‘the Bookmarks bar’.
If not, click settings icon at right top and check ‘Always show bookmarks bar’ option
Right click on the bookmarks bar, and then select Add Page from drop down menu.
In the Name field, enter “Google PageRank” or anything you like, and for the URL field paste the following javascript code:

Now whenever you will be browsing any website, you can click “Google PageRank” button to view the Page Rank information from Google and Alexa Rank for that website.

Page Rank Add-On for Chrome

Page Rank for Chrome shows the Google PageRank for the current website.

To install and use extensions in Chrome you have to be on the dev channel and start Chrome with the parameter –enable-extensions.

You probably have Google Chrome installed.
Download the Chrome Channel Switcher.
Install the channel switcher, and select the dev channel as below.

Download PageRank addon for Chrome.

Download the Extension (pagerank.crx).

Locate a Chrome shortcut (C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe), right click on it, and choose “Properties” from menu.
In the “Target” attach “–enable-extensions” to the end of the string item.
e.g. “C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe” –enable-extensions
Copy pagerank.crx into drive C:
Open Chrome with “file:///C:/pagerank.crx”
You will be prompted whether to install it. Say “Yes, I Do”, or click “OK”.
Restart Google Chrome
Done! You should be able to see Page Rank display on left bottom corner for any particular website.
