Google Glass Competitors – Wearable Gadgets in 2014

After smart phones, wearable smart devices seem inevitable. Google X is creating and testing Google Glass that is a wearable PC and can do almost anything that a smart phone does. It will also free you hands, eyes and ears unlike smart phone. Google have not launched the Glass for public yet, and there are solid news that other companies are in process to launch wearable gadgets in 2014. Apple, Microsoft, Baidu and Samsung are all working on wearable gadgets now. Its a matter of time which one gets more attention.

Microsoft is reportedly planning its own glasses in 2014. Microsoft is planning to bring a Google Glass and iWatch competitor. Microsoft wants to be in the game when Google Glass goes on sale next year. Some say that Microsoft’s wearable device could be part of the Kinect revamp, which will be a part of the next Xbox. It is expected that Google and Apple will have wearable devices in the near future.

It is said that Apple is also planning on a upgrading Apple TV, which will come with a wearable remote control called the iRing. iRing will allow users to control TV with a flick of the finger. New Apple TV will come with a mini iTV screen that will allow users to view content on a smaller 9.7-inch display.

Baidu is China’s largest search engine, that is developing digital eyewear similar to Google Glass. This project is known as “Baidu Eye”. Project is in testing phase. Baidu Eye will be mounted on a headset with a small LCD screen and will allow users to make image and voice searches as well as conduct facial recognition matches.
