Would you buy a self driven car made by Google? The future of cars, if not the flying cars then sure thing is self driving cars. Concerns here are car and road safety and efficiency, help prevent traffic accidents, free up people’s time and reduce carbon emissions by fundamentally changing car use (and ???). Google claims that they have developed technology for cars that can drive themselves. Welcome to the automated cars technology by Google.

Google’s automated cars can use video cameras, radar sensors and a laser range finder to sense and see other traffic, as well as detailed Google maps to navigate the road. This is made possible by Google’s data centers, which can process the enormous amounts of information gathered Google.

Engineers say that robot drivers react faster than humans, have 360-degree perception and do not get distracted, sleepy or intoxicated. Technology could double the capacity of roads by allowing cars to drive more safely while closer together. Because the robot cars would eventually be less likely to crash, they could be built lighter, reducing fuel consumption. The Google research program using artificial intelligence to revolutionize the automobile is a proof that the company’s ambitions reach beyond just the search engine business.

A YouTube user said: Imagine every car having a camera attached on top that stores and relays GPS and images to a Google server at all times. They will want to do this for insurance purposes because technically they will be the drivers. However, each car will be able to essentially give a live map of the entire world.

Google is using six Priuses and an Audi TT in the Automated Self Driving Cars project.
