Find my Mac Coming in MAC OS X Lion

by on February 27th, 2011

After Find my iPhone, Find my iPad and Find my iPod Touch, Find my MAC is said to come in MAC OS X Lion.

References was found in the MAC OS X Lion 10.7 file system. The actual system files only tell the name, but they shared this Lion build number: 11A372z. That means Apple has been playing around with Find my Mac feature internally, but swiped it from the developer preview. Find my Mac service is said to be integrated into the free MobileMe, like Find my iPhone, and Find my iPhone application for iOS devices will be updated to support Macs. Macs will be able to locate other Macs with the online version of the tracking system through Me.com. Macs don’t have GPS systems so they will rely on WiFi connectivity (like WiFi-only iPad, and iPod touch).
