Combine Google Voice and Siri – Route Google Voice Search Queries To Siri – Guide with Commands

by on May 20th, 2013

You can activate Google Voice Search from anywhere in the iOS by using NowNow (your iDevice should have Google Search app installed) and that is not any new Cydia tweak. NowNow allows you to activate Google’s virtual assistant from anywhere in the iOS. And now here is something more. A cydia tweak can combine Google Now voice search and Siri together for better results. If you hate Siri voice recognition system, use this guide to enhance it.

Not everybody like Siri. Users complain that “Siri rarely, does what it is told to do”. The problem is Siri’s voice recognition approach. If you think that Google Now Voice understands your voice better then you can use Google Voice search (in Google Now) to recognize voice commands and then send them to Siri for execution. Google Now voice search seems to be fast, accurate and more responsive. Google’s voice recognition system is way better than Siri’s.

Googiri is the solution. Googiri is a Cydia tweak that allows you to execute Siri commands directly from the Google voice search interface.

Googiri is a very simple jailbreak tweak that places a preference panel in the Settings of your iOS device. You can enable/disable Googiri from there. There are more options there. “Send All to Siri” allows you to route all commands to Siri. “Route System” is for routing all system commands to Siri.

If you enable just the first option (Enable Googiri), then all commands will be routed to Google as normal, except when you speak word “Siri” before the command. “Send All To Siri” (if enabled) sends all commands to Siri, and if you use word “Google” before command then it will be sent to Google.

“Route System” in Googiri combines Google voice search and Siri. Unless you speak a command that Siri recognizes as a system command, all of your commands will be sent to Google. So if you say “show painting pictures”, Google will display painting pictures. But if you say, “Remind me to check my emails”, then Siri will schedule a reminder for you to check your emails. A full list of all of the system commands are included in Googiri’s preferences.

Googiri is available for free on Cydia’s BigBoss repo. And also install NowNow from Cydia to activate Google Voice search from anywhere in iOS that will then route queries or commands to Siri (based on app settings). NowNow is also available through Cydia via the BigBoss repository.

If you haven’t, install Google Now (Google Search app) on iPhone or iPad.
