Backup and Sync Firefox and Chrome Open Tabs via Cloud from Any PC

by on September 3rd, 2013

Web browser tabs can prioritize the usage and reading preference for different web pages and you can leave other pages opened to process or view later. If FireFox closes unexpectedly, you can restore previous session of browser tabs. It even asks you to restore previous windows session on restart. While its safe but it keeps user and the computer lazy as user always thinks that the opened websites will not be lost and he can retrieve those later. But opened tabs require a lot of computer’s memory. Also what about accessing those tabs from different locations on different computers? You can access your browser tabs from your own PC but what about when you want to access your opened tabs from anywhere else? If we can get this feature then won’t it give us some more freedom in accessing our favorite online pages all the time? Firefox has got built-in ‘tabs save and restore feature’ but Chrome has not got it at a good level. Sometimes Chrome lets me restore previous opened tabs but most of the time it does not. You can also open same browser tabs in Google Chrome, that are opened in FireFox. So here is the solution to save and restore FireFox and chrome tabs from anywhere on any PC. It is a great way to backup open tabs.

TagCloud extension is available for Firefox, Chrome and for Android. It allows you to access and manage your opened browser tabs from FireFox, or chrome and on Android as well. It does not depend which computer you are using and which web browser are you using as long as it is Firefox or Chrome.

TabCloud is a browser tab and session manager which allows you save groups of open tabs to access later or on another device. It allows you to save any window session and restore it at a later date or on another computer. Effectively allowing you to sync open tabs between multiple computers.

After installation, TabCloud icon appears in the browser. Click the TabCloud icon on the menu, you will then see your current open windows and previously saved windows, you can save open windows, or restore saved ones. You can also delete previously saved windows.

TabCloud uses Google Accounts for login and Google App Engine to store data you save on an external server, all information is encrypted when being sent to and from the server using SSL. Cookies for external sites will need to be enabled for this extension to work.

Tip: If the Tabcloud is not working with your firefox browser, try other version of Tabcloud. Version history page has got support details for different versions of firefox.
