The angry birds space holds the honor to be the first ever game announcement and gameplay footage from space that is brought to audience by NASA and Don Pettit from the ISS.

During Expedition 30, on behalf of NASA in cooperation with Rovio Entertainment (creator of the Angry Birds franchise), Pettit made video by using an Angry Birds character to explain how physics and gravity works in space, including demonstrating trajectories in microgravity by catapulting a Red Bird through the space station.

This is exciting because such collaboration may share the excitement of space with the game community, educate users on NASA’s programs, and create interactive educational experiences for the whole public. The footage was released by NASA both on its official site and YouTube.

This teaser for Angry Birds Space was filmed on the International Space Station, featuring live Angry Birds demonstration and physics lesson from astronaut Don Pettit. There is gameplay footage at the end of video, showing weightless environments, circular planets, gravity and more. Watch it below.
