Google has taken bold initiatives including self-driving cars and Google Glass. The progress of the company does not stop there but they aim to enhance lives even further at a consistent pace. Google has launched a new company named as ‘Calico’ which aims to extend human life span. This Google initiative was announced in a Time’s cover story. Calico will be run by Arthur Levinson (former CEO of Genentech, an investor and the chairman of Apple). This is a long term project as Larry Page said that it normally takes ten to 20 years to go from an idea to something being real.

Samsung and Apple have already jumped in the field of smart watch which seems to be the next most discussed wearable device. Meanwhile, cars manufacturer ‘Nissan’ has also created a smart watch designed exclusively for drivers. This device can communicate with the car and driver, providing drivers with some useful and real-time information such as current average speed and driver’s heart beat rate. The Nismo Watch will connect with Nissan’s Nismo vehicle range, enabling drivers to keep track of their current speed and fuel consumption. It will continuously monitor the heart beat rate of driver and will suggest him to reduce vehicle’s speed, if his heart beat rate increases above from a certain limit. This watch will help monitor performance data which will be transmitted to a smartphone app via bluetooth, where it will be stored.
